Deposit Rates Hold Steady in Verified Panel as Five Banks and Credit Unions Join the Search

The October 26 first-party refresh expanded coverage to 134 verified institutions (+5) and added 178 rate

observations. All 14 strictly comparable products in today's conservative audit were unchanged; no verified

increases or cuts qualified. Fresh savings offers reach 5.00% with restrictions, and the leading observed

five-year jumbo certificate pays 4.87%.

  1. Rate Environment

Deposit pricing is stable within today's measured panel: 14 of 14 exact-comparable observations were unchanged, with no

verified increases or cuts. This is a small, nonrandom comparison panel, so the result does not establish nationwide

stability.

Borrowing benchmarks are mixed across their latest observation windows. Treasury yields rose on Friday, October 23,

while Freddie Mac's latest weekly 30-year mortgage average declined eight basis points to 7.32%.

  1. Today's Numbers

The benchmark table uses the latest independently confirmed official observations available at publication. Friday's

Treasury curve is current through October 23; the overnight reference-rate pages could not be independently confirmed

beyond October 22 and are not estimated.

  1. Biggest Verified Moves

No qualifying increase or cut was identified in the October 26 refresh. Eleven Bank5 Connect products and three Ally Bank

deposit products retained identical APYs across matched institution, product, term, balance tier and nationwide online

eligibility.

Sixteen Northpointe products had otherwise matching names, terms, tiers and APYs but were excluded because the

refreshed geographic-eligibility description was less specific than the prior disclosure. New institution rates are baselines,

not changes.

Seven-day audit events (October 20-26): 6 increases, 266 unchanged and 0 cuts, counting repeated daily product checks

rather than unique nationwide products. The largest verified increase in this window was Bank5 Connect's 3-month CD

(+110 bp, 3.20% to 4.30%, captured October 23). Other verified increases included two America First certificate products

and three Ally savings/money-market products. No verified seven-day cuts were identified.

  1. Where Savers Are Winning

Fresh first-party observations show the strongest headline liquid-savings yields at 5.00%, but the offers are restricted. The

highest fresh standard one-year CD is 4.45%, while the leading five-year jumbo certificate is 4.87%.

A newly discovered GreenState money-market promotion lists 4.25% and a Grasshopper 12-month AAA CD lists 4.20%,

indexes. USF Credit Union has a fresh 4.00% money-market tier, but it requires at least $2 million.

  1. Borrower Watch

Freddie Mac's October 22 Primary Mortgage Market Survey showed a 30-year fixed average of 7.32%, down 8 basis points

from October 15, and a 15-year average of 6.68%, down 3 basis points. These are national survey benchmarks, not lender

quotes.

The indicative 30-year mortgage-minus-10-year Treasury spread is 232 basis points (7.32% minus 5.00%). Prime is 7.00%,

312 basis points above the last confirmed 3.88% effective federal funds rate. SOFR was 3.90% as of October 22, up 2

basis points from October 21. Benchmark observation dates differ; the spreads are illustrative, not matched-time market

prices.

  1. Yield Curve / CD Strategy

The Treasury curve slopes upward from 4.44% at one year to 5.00% at ten years, a 56-basis-point difference. The

2-year/10-year spread is +31 basis points.

The strongest one-year CD is essentially level with Treasuries, while the top five-year jumbo certificate slightly leads the

five-year Treasury at a $50,000 minimum. Longer Treasury maturities otherwise retain nominal advantages. Taxes,

liquidity, deposit insurance, early-withdrawal penalties and market-price exposure differ, so APYs alone are not a complete

comparison.

  1. Bank Behavior

The fresh, nonrandom OnlineBankRates panel shows higher average leading savings APYs among online-oriented banks

than among the sampled credit unions. Credit-union averages include basic share accounts with low yields; these are not

representative nationwide category averages.

ONLINEBANKRATES / DAILY RATE INTELLIGENCE

26 OCT 2026 | 4

Today's 14 verified unchanged observations came from two online banks. In the seven-day daily audit, four increase

events involved online-bank products and two involved credit-union certificates. Because source coverage and

repeat-check frequency differ, the data do not establish which institution group is repricing fastest. Large traditional-bank

coverage is too thin for a defensible Online-vs-National Bank Premium.

  1. OnlineBankRates Takeaway

Monday's rate refresh found no verified increases or cuts among 14 closely matched deposit products. Five newly verified

institutions expanded OnlineBankRates to 134, but new listings establish starting observations, not price changes. For

savers, a 5.00% promotional or limited-balance savings APY remains the highest fresh observed cash yield, while an

introductory savings offer reaches 4.20%. The strongest fresh standard 12-month CD pays 4.45%; a five-year jumbo

certificate offers 4.87% with a $50,000 minimum. The latest 30-year mortgage benchmark fell to 7.32%, although

borrowing costs remain elevated. Compared with Treasuries, one-year CDs are nearly level, while longer-term government

yields generally lead except for the top five-year jumbo offer. Always compare eligibility, balance caps, penalties and

effective dates: some newly discovered rates lack dated disclosures and are excluded from current-rate rankings.

The Savings Index declined 44 basis points because two newly fresh credit-union savings observations have low APYs. The

12-month CD Index declined two basis points with PSECU entering the fresh sample. Neither change is evidence of

same-product rate cuts. Historical published values and the v2.2 methodology are preserved.

Data & Methodology Disclosure

Bank Verified denotes a rate transcribed from an institution-owned disclosure; it does not guarantee that an aging, stale or undated rate

remains available. Fresh observations have official effective dates within 7 calendar days, aging 8-30 days, stale over 30 days; undated

offers are excluded from current-rate leaderboards.

Bank Rate Breadth compares identical institution, product, maturity, balance tier and substantively equivalent eligibility with a dated prior

observation; new products are baselines.

Savings Index v2.2 averages the highest fresh eligible consumer savings APY per institution, excluding business, IRA, youth, education and

HSA products. CD Index v2.2 averages each institution's highest fresh exact-12-month standard certificate APY, including jumbo but

excluding capped Starter/EasyStart, retirement, business and deferred-compensation products. Best Cash Yield is the highest fresh

consumer savings APY including restricted offers.

Fed Pass-Through Score is defined as median same-product APY change across a fixed pre/post-Fed-policy cohort divided by the change in

EFFR, requiring at least 20 matched products and 5 institutions. Online-vs-National Bank Premium is defined as the online-bank mean

leading comparable savings APY minus the large-national-bank mean, requiring at least 5 institutions per group. Both remain unpublished

until adequate comparable data exist.

Indexes are unweighted tracked-panel indicators, not national averages or personalized advice. APYs, terms and availability can change

without notice.
