New 4.10% No-Minimum Savings Offer Joins Tracker; 34 Matched Deposit Rates Unchanged

Publication date: November 1, 2026 | 5 AM first-party refresh: November 1 | Official benchmark dates: October 29–30

Executive Summary

The November 1 first-party refresh expanded OnlineBankRates from 159 to 164 verified institutions and appended 131 new observations. Among 34 strictly comparable, independently dated deposit products, none increased or declined; all 34 held steady. This is a narrow three-institution comparison panel, not a national rate survey. Newly verified Always.bank offers 4.10% APY on savings with no minimum and 4.15% on a 12-month CD. A separate qualifying Leader Bank savings offer reaches 5.00%; the strongest fresh standard 12-month CD is 4.65%. Friday's Treasury yields fell, while the latest weekly 30-year mortgage average eased to 7.24%.

1 / Rate Environment

Measured deposit pricing was stable in the exact-comparable panel: zero increases, 34 unchanged products and zero cuts across three institutions; the selective sample cannot establish nationwide deposit-rate direction. Borrowing reference rates were mixed to easing: the two-, five- and ten-year Treasury yields fell 5, 7 and 4 basis points Friday, respectively, and the latest weekly 30-year mortgage survey fell 8 basis points, while prime and the latest available overnight benchmarks held steady. Sunday has no new Treasury or weekly mortgage print; the most recent business-day observations are identified below.

3 / Biggest Verified Moves

Today: no verified increases or cuts. A conservative comparison of 34 matching products found 34 unchanged: 24 Advancial adult certificate tiers, eight Bank5 Connect products and two Marcus products. Exact product/term, minimum, tier and eligibility were checked; ambiguous changes in product terms or metadata were excluded.

Strict rate breadth Increases Unchanged Cuts
Prior dated observation → Nov 1 0 (0%) 34 (100%) 0 (0%)
Exactly Oct 25 → Nov 1 0 (0%) 11 (100%) 0 (0%)

Last seven days of audit discoveries: the October 29 audit identified six verified CFG Bank CD increases, including 36- and 60-month standard CDs rising from 4.40% to 4.82% APY (+42 basis points). However, the two official effective disclosures were October 6 and October 27, a 21-day interval. These are not seven-day repricing claims; no exact October 25-to-November 1 rate change was verified in the 11-product seven-day matched panel.

Data note: First-time discoveries, newly added institutions, different balance tiers and undated disclosures never count as rate increases or cuts.

4 / Where Savers Are Winning

Opportunity Observed APY Important qualification
Leader Bank Zeugma Plus savings 5.00% Qualifying linked checking, deposits and debit activity; up to $250,000
Always.bank high-yield savings 4.10% No opening or maintenance minimum; variable; newly verified Nov 1
CFG high-yield money market 4.05% $1,000 minimum; dated Oct 27
Bank5 Connect Jumbo Savings 3.65% $25,000 minimum; dated Nov 1
Bank5 Connect 3-month CD 4.30% $500 minimum; dated Nov 1
CFG 12-month CD 4.65% $500 minimum; dated Oct 27
CFG 24-, 36-, 60-month CDs 4.82% $500 minimum; dated Oct 27
Advancial 60-month jumbo certificate 4.87% $50,000 minimum; membership; dated Nov 1
Apple FCU 12-month Starter Certificate 5.00% Capped at $5,000, one per member; excluded from standard CD index

Strongest standard CD maturities: the tracked 24- to 60-month offers are among the highest yields, with CFG at 4.82% for 24/36/60 months and Advancial at 4.87% for a five-year jumbo. Apple’s 5.00% Starter Certificate is a restricted, capped special rather than a comparable standard CD.

Data note: Axos ONE’s previously tracked 5.00% new-customer opening promotion was limited to applications through October 31 and is excluded from November 1 fresh rankings. Offers may change after publication.

5 / Borrower Watch

Freddie Mac’s October 29 weekly survey put the 30-year fixed mortgage average at 7.24%, down eight basis points from October 22; the 15-year average fell eight basis points to 6.60%. The indicative 30-year mortgage minus October 30 ten-year Treasury difference is 230 basis points (7.24% less 4.94%), versus 226 basis points when paired with October 29’s 4.98% ten-year yield; the two dates are not synchronized and this is not a quoted lender spread.

Prime is 7.00%, SOFR 3.94% and EFFR 3.88%, leaving a six-basis-point SOFR–EFFR difference and a 312-basis-point prime–EFFR difference. Actual variable-rate borrowing costs depend on each contract’s index, margin, floor and reset schedule.

6 / Yield Curve and CD Strategy

Maturity Best fresh standard CD Treasury Oct 30 CD minus Treasury
3 months 4.30% Bank5 4.16% +14 bp
6 months 4.00% Bank5 4.25% −25 bp
12 months 4.65% CFG 4.36% +29 bp
24 months 4.82% CFG 4.56% +26 bp
60 months (jumbo) 4.87% Advancial 4.71% +16 bp
120 months 3.75% Apple FCU 4.94% −119 bp

The two- to ten-year Treasury curve is upward sloping by 38 basis points. In the tracked fresh panel, one- and two-year CDs beat comparable Treasury par yields, while the five-year jumbo offers a smaller nominal advantage; the ten-year standard certificate trails the Treasury by 119 basis points. Liquid savings rates can change, CDs may lock APY but charge early-withdrawal penalties, and Treasuries have different tax and resale-price characteristics. This comparison is educational, not personalized financial advice.

7 / Bank Behavior

Fresh, one-per-institution panel Online-oriented Credit unions Regional/community Large national
Mean top eligible savings APY 3.40% (n=5) 1.78% (n=4) 3.90% (n=3) Insufficient
Mean best standard 12-month CD 3.90% (n=5) 3.55% (n=5) 2.97% (n=3) Insufficient

These are nonrandom, small first-party samples and include low-yield basic credit-union share accounts. Today’s exact-comparable panel consists of Advancial (24 unchanged), Bank5 Connect (eight unchanged) and Marcus (two unchanged). No institution class can be credibly identified as repricing fastest from this limited sample; the Online-vs-National Bank Premium remains unpublished because comparable large-national-bank data are insufficient.

8 / OnlineBankRates Takeaway

Today's deposit-rate story is about better choices, not a broad wave of rate increases. Our latest first-party check added five verified institutions, including Always.bank, which advertises 4.10% APY on savings without a minimum balance and 4.15% on a 12-month CD. Across 34 strictly comparable products checked against earlier dated disclosures, every APY was unchanged. A qualifying Leader Bank savings account still reaches 5.00%, but requires linked checking activity and other conditions. Among standard CDs, CFG Bank's 12-month offer is 4.65%, while Advancial's five-year jumbo certificate reaches 4.87% with a $50,000 minimum. Treasury yields fell Friday and the latest 30-year mortgage survey eased to 7.24%, although borrowing remains expensive. Compare balance requirements, access to cash, penalties and effective dates rather than choosing solely by the headline APY.

Index definitions, version 2.2: The Savings Index is the equal-weighted average of each tracked institution’s highest fresh eligible adult consumer savings APY, one per institution. The CD Index uses each institution’s highest fresh standard exact 12-month CD APY, one per institution. Business, IRA, youth, education-only and capped Starter products are excluded; uncapped jumbo and fully disclosed relationship tiers are eligible. Fresh means a bank-published product-specific effective date within 0–7 days; aging is 8–30 days; stale is 31+ days; undated is separate. A changed cross-sectional index is not a same-bank rate change.

Bank Rate Breadth counts increases, unchanged observations and cuts only for independently dated products with matching institution, term, balance tier, opening requirement, relationship and geography; narrowly documented wording harmonization is allowed. Fed Pass-Through Score = 100 × [30-day change in fixed matched deposit-cohort mean APY] / [30-day change in federal funds target midpoint], withheld for zero denominator or inadequate panel. Online-vs-National Bank Premium = (mean eligible online savings APY − mean matched large-national-bank savings APY) × 100 basis points, withheld without a credible matched sample. Best Cash Yield = highest fresh eligible adult savings or money-market APY, including clearly qualified promotions.

Data note: Published historical metrics are retained exactly; no retroactive rewriting of older methodology versions. November 1 cohort membership and strict matched observations accompany this report as CSV audits.

Five newly verified institutions: 22nd State Bank (Always.bank), Centier Bank, Emprise Bank, Frontwave Credit Union and Western State Bank. Only Always.bank’s highlighted offers have a fresh November 1 bank-specific effective date. Centier’s schedule is undated; Emprise, Frontwave and Western State Bank have stale or conflicting highlighted effective dates, so their rates are not promoted as current.

Collection limitation: Only 11 of 318 previously registered official URLs were revisited. Nine of 20 attempted sources did not yield usable new numeric data, including dynamic disclosures, a 503 response and a conflicting-brand source. The collector calls rates stale after 21 days; this publication consistently uses the established 31+ day editorial threshold, producing 1,511 stale rows rather than the raw 2,164. The production-row count fell from 5,895 to 4,267 following normalization/deduplication; this is not evidence of bank closures or rate removals. Historical Bank Verified provenance does not imply current availability.
